Palintest Photometer DPD 1 XF Test Tablets
Palintest DPD High Range Photometer Tablets are designed for photometers to measure chlorine levels.
DPD1 tablets test for free chlorine levels from 0-10ppm. AP013 DPD1-XF (HR) tablets are for high range measurements and are supplied in packs of 250.
DPD3 tablets test for combined chlorine levels from 0-10ppm. AP033/1 DPD3-XT (HR) tablets are also for high range measurements and are supplied in packs of 250.
The DPD method, developed by Dr A T Palin, is the standard for testing chlorine and disinfectant residuals. Reagents are provided in tablet form for convenience. Free chlorine reacts with DPD to produce a pink colour proportional to its concentration. Excess potassium iodide then reacts with any combined chlorine, producing a colour proportional to total chlorine. The colour intensities are measured using a Palintest Photometer. The DPD Oxystop tablet is added after free chlorine measurement to prevent interference from shock chemicals.
